Kate Penney read history at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, and then trained and worked in London as a chartered accountant. She loves Jane Austen, cosy crime and all things mythological and mysterious. Kate lives in Surrey with her husband, daughters and cats.

Writing as Katharine Corr alongside her sister Elizabeth, she has co-written seven YA fantasy novels. Their first trilogy, The Witch’s Kiss, was re-released by OpenRoad Media in 2024 and the second half of their House Of Shadows duology was published by Hot Key Books in the UK and is forthcoming from Candlewick Press in the US as Daughter of the Underworld.
